Chateau Internet proposes the online purchase of the best En Primeur wines 2019, some of which were selected during the traditional and prestigious En Primeur Week in Bordeaux.

Buying your wine en primeur allows all lovers of rare vintages and prestigious cellars to get a good deal. This system of en primeur wines allows you to acquire wines while the production is still in barrels (being matured) and to invest in wines from great châteaux before bottling. Originating from a British speciality that dates back more than two centuries (at the time reserved for the wine trade), the primeur system was brought up to date by the Bordeaux vineyards in the 1970s and is now gradually being extended to many other prestigious appellations.

Originally, the sales of en primeur wine was initiated by the Union des Grands Crus Bordelais (UGCB) in 1970… This original process, which allows you to buy your wine two years before bottling, was an immediate success. Every year in the spring, the wine world meets in Bordeaux for the opening of the En Primeurs campaign and the tasting of the latest vintages (la semaine des primeurs). Each estate presents the best of its production to buyers, merchants, wine merchants, importers and other wine professionals. In addition to the economic interest for winegrowers to be able to sell their production, the En Primeurs week is a great promotional event for the vineyards of Bordeaux, Médoc, St Emilion, Margaux, St Estèphe and many other appellations.

The production of each estate is often limited and not all the wine merchants have access to certain châteaux or certain vintages that will become great bottles over the years. At Chateau Internet, thanks to our knowledge of the world of winemaking over many years, we can often offer exclusive online purchase of the best En Primeur wines 2019 and previous years (sometimes in rare appellations).

Beyond allowing oenologists and sommeliers to detect the great years of an appellation or an exceptional vintage, it is the result of the tasting that will define the price of the en primeur wine. These prices are indeed variable each year according to each property, vinification, maturing, date of harvest, etc… At Chateau internet, our experts consider tasting to be essential in order to offer the best young wines for online sales.

It is no secret that great wines evolve and improve with the years… It is often the tastings of the En Primeur wines that will reveal in a new vintage the characteristics of an exceptional future year. Depending on the terroirs, the exposure of the vines, the grape varieties, the ripening of the grapes at the time of harvest, the care given to the ageing process (winemaking techniques, length of fermentation, quality of the cellars), each 2019 en primeur vintage is unique… Red wines generally give off fruity aromas (red fruit, red berries); depending on the year, white en primeur wines display a varied floral aromatic palette (fresh fruit, apple, pear, citrus fruit).
